§ 01 The Practice

M2L is an advisory practice for ag tech and life sciences companies that have crossed the science threshold and now face the harder question — how do we actually get this to market. Pragmatic, operator-led, built on twenty-plus years of bringing innovations from lab bench to commercial scale.

§ 02 Expertise

Where M2L spends its time. Each engagement is shaped to one or more of these five.

/ 01

Business Development

From first conversations to signed term sheets. Identifying the right partners, structuring the deal, and shepherding it through the diligence and contracting phases that kill more good ideas than bad science ever does.

/ 02

Partnership Strategy

Knowing when to license, when to acquire, when to co-develop, and when to walk. Strategic frameworks built on decades of watching what works and what doesn't in ag and life sciences alliances.

/ 03

Commercial Pathways

Translating a technology platform into a commercial pathway with real customers, real economics, and a defensible go-to-market. The work between proof-of-concept and product-market fit.

/ 04

Alternative Biofuels

Deep operational experience in the climate-smart oilseed space — pennycress, winter cover crops, low-carbon fuel and feed markets — including offtake structuring and supply chain integration.

/ 05

Network Building

Twenty years in St. Louis ag, plus board and trade-organization seats, plus founding-member status in the ACME Ag Consulting network — meaning the door you need opened, M2L can usually open.

§ 04 Approach

The promise behind every engagement.

Ag is unforgiving of pretty PowerPoints. The science either makes it through the supply chain to a farmer who will plant it, a buyer who will pay for it, and a regulator who will let it through — or it doesn't. My job is to help that happen.

Independent practice. Bigger bench.

M2L is one of six independent practices that came together to form ACME Ag Consulting — a senior network covering brand, communications, government affairs, business development, and fractional leadership across agriculture and food.

When an engagement needs more than one specialty, M2L pulls from a bench Matt would trust with his own business. One front door, one point of contact, the depth of a much larger firm and none of the overhead.
